Poste proposé : Server – Douala

On behalf of our prestigious client, a leader in high-end dining in Douala, we are recruiting a passionate and dedicated Lounge/Restaurant Server. This role is pivotal in delivering an unparalleled guest experience in a sophisticated and fast-paced environment.
Your Mission:

  • To embody excellence through impeccable service, ensuring every guest enjoys a memorable and seamless culinary journey from arrival to departure.

Profile We Are Looking For:

  • The ideal candidate is a true ambassador for the establishment. You will personify exceptional service, uphold the highest standards of a Michelin-starred restaurant, and guarantee complete guest satisfaction. Strong cash handling and point-of-sale (POS) skills are essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Service Excellence & Guest Relations:

  • Warmly welcome, seat guests, and present menus.
  • Expertly explain menu items and make personalized recommendations.
  • Take and serve food and drink orders with precision and professionalism.
  • Be highly attentive, anticipate guest needs, and accommodate special requests to elevate the dining experience.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for guests, addressing any inquiries or concerns promptly and professionally.

2. Cashier & Payment Processing:

  • Accurately process end-of-meal bills and handle cash, credit card, and other payment methods efficiently.
  • Manage the point-of-sale (POS) system for ordering, modifications, and settlement.
  • Ensure full reconciliation of transactions at the end of each shift.

3. Preparation and Mise en Place:

  • Execute pre-service setup, including cleaning, table setting, polishing glassware/silverware, and stocking service stations.
  • Ensure the lounge/restaurant environment is immaculate and meets established standards.

4. Cleaning and Maintenance:

  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the dining area, including clearing and resetting tables promptly.
  • Adhere to strict cleaning schedules for all front-of-house areas and equipment.

5. Teamwork and Collaboration:

  • Work seamlessly with kitchen and bar teams to ensure smooth service flow.
  • Support colleagues during peak periods and contribute to a positive, collaborative work environment.

Profil recherché pour le poste : Server – Douala

Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Server in a high-end restaurant, hotel, or lounge.
  • Education: A background in Hospitality Management or related training is a significant advantage.
  • Technical Skills:

    • Proven experience in cash handling and proficiency with Point-of-Sale (POS) systems.
    • Fluent in French; proficiency in English is highly preferred.
  • Professional Skills:

    • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to multitask and maintain composure under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong team player with a proactive and collaborative attitude.
  • Personal Attributes:

    • Impeccable personal presentation and grooming.
    • Punctual, reliable, and demonstrates a strong work ethic.
    • Friendly, courteous, and genuinely focused on guest satisfaction.
  • Availability: Must be available to work flexible hours, including evenings and late nights. A typical shift runs from 4:00 PM to 12:30 AM.
