Working Conditions

• Employment Type: Full-time position with 2-year fixed-term contract
• Location: International hospitality construction project in Yaoundé, Cameroon
• Work Environment: Active construction site requiring safety compliance and PPE adherence
• Schedule: Standard working hours with flexibility for project requirements and site demands
• Safety Standards: Strict adherence to international safety protocols and local regulations required

Key Responsibilities

MEP Systems Management

• Execute mechanical systems installation including HVAC, plumbing, and fire safety systems
• Coordinate with electrical engineers to ensure proper MEP integration and system compatibility
• Design mechanical drawings, specifications, and technical submittals
• Ensure compliance with international hospitality standards and local building codes

Quality Control & Compliance

• Conduct regular inspections and quality assessments of mechanical installations
• Implement and maintain quality control procedures according to international standards
• Prepare technical reports and documentation for project stakeholders
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols and environmental regulations

Project Coordination

• Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and international partners
• Follow mechanical work schedules and coordinate with overall project timeline
• Provide technical support and guidance to local teams and subcontractors
• Participate in design coordination meetings and technical problem-solving sessions

Technical Documentation

• Maintain accurate as-built drawings and technical documentation using AutoCAD/Revit
• Prepare commissioning procedures and testing protocols for mechanical systems
• Document project progress and maintain comprehensive project records
• Support handover process with operation and maintenance documentation

Qualifications and Requirements

Education & Certification

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Additional certifications in HVAC, plumbing, or fire safety systems are advantageous

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 3-5 years of mechanical engineering experience in construction projects
• Proven experience in MEP systems design, installation, or project management
• Experience in hospitality, commercial high-rise, or complex international construction projects necessary
• International project experience and cultural adaptability highly valued

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit MEP for technical drawing and modeling
• Knowledge of international building codes and standards (British, US, European)
• Understanding of HVAC systems, plumbing design, and fire safety requirements
• Familiarity with project management software and construction scheduling tools

Language & Communication

• French language skills necessary for working in Cameroon environment
• Strong presentation and technical communication abilities
• Ability to work effectively in multicultural team environments
